About Me

Michelle loves the practice of Speech-Language Pathology because of its diverse opportunities for supporting children, adolescents and young adults in cognitive, linguistic, and social settings. Over 12 years of practice, she has developed a special passion for helping patients find methods for lifelong learning practices using language- and sociocognitive skills and strategies.

As a person with ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder), Michelle developed strategies for her own effective learning throughout her academic career. This personal experience offers her a deeper level of understanding in the use of research-based and practical therapeutic methods. She believes every person who struggles to focus, lacks direction, or “thinks outside the box” deserves to feel confident and inspired as they learn.

Additionally, Michelle participated in a 4-day, 30-hour training that was created by Dr. Kay Toomey to help picky and problem eaters. The SOS Approach to Feeding program has been around for 30 years and teaches therapists to evaluate a child’s sensory and/or oral difficulties surrounding feeding and how to make eating fun for these children. Michelle always enjoys seeing a parent light up when their child plays with food that they have never willingly touched, and better yet, the child willing eats the food.

Michelle and her wife moved to Southwest Austin in 2011. She spends her free time hanging out with her wife, son, and baby girl, finding live music, enjoying new restaurants, and exploring the outdoors.
