See what people are saying about Thoughtful SLP:

We began working with Michelle when our pediatrician flagged our daughter as moderately behind on her speech during her 15 month check up. Michelle completed an evaluation and began working with us to get our daughter back on track. Michelle’s approach is one of true support for the family. She is calm and reassuring, taking away all of the motherly worry that happens when your child is flagged by a doctor as behind the curve. Michelle immediately gained our daughter’s trust through fun activities and play, all the while teaching us how we can incorporate these exercises into our day to day routine. I’m happy to say that through this approach our daughter has progressed leaps and bounds in her communication. We cannot thank Michelle enough for her support and kindness, and we would give her our highest recommendation for speech therapy. Thanks Michelle!

My son started seeing Michelle before his fourth birthday for speech therapy centering around pragmatic speech needs, referencing cues, and overall fluency. As soon as I met Michelle and saw her working with my son, I knew immediately that she ‘got’ him. She knew how to challenge and stretch him but also have fun with him. Her skillset is so good, that I know she’s able to tune into any child and work up a set of goals that are tailored and meaningful and then work tirelessly to cross off each and every one. My son is now eleven and still works with Michelle once weekly on executive functioning skills. Even though he has progressed exponentially since those first days, we still see how Michelle can quickly tap into those few needs he still has to shore those up. She is good at collaborating with others to understand a child’s overall needs, and she always listens to the family’s “concerns”. Michelle’s an amazing therapist who you want on your child’s team.

Michelle has been working with our speech delayed four-year-old for 6 months now and I cannot sing her praises enough! She met him where he was, identified what he needed the most help with, and has spent 30 mins a week playing with him in such a way that he doesn’t even realize he’s practicing speech. He has so much fun with her and looks forward to her visits each Wednesday. She has the perfect balance of fun and challenge for him. I love that she is always pushing him forward. Once he masters an objective, she quickly moves on to her he next skill that he needs to practice. He has made significant progress in the past 6 months and I’m confident a lot of that is thanks to Michelle!
